Your history with Buddhism/Psychology & interest in this network:
I have no formal education in Buddhism as such, but have been practising Zen for many years under the guidance of Rafael Redondo who recognised me as a Zen master (only he knows why). Spirituality in general has always fascinated me and as a child I would read about religions of the world. Being from a western judeo-chrsitian culture, growing up in Saudi Arabia, opened me up to diversity as a child. I still recall the mystical experience of the prayer call by the muezzin at five in the morning. To this day I cherish how it takes me "home". In general I´ve read and explored various mystical traditions as part of my interest and work in cultural diversity, peace culture and non-violence. Creating dialogue has been central in my path, and as well as studying international relations, development studies and cultural studies, the search for the depth where we can find each other, has taken me to explore the mystical and spiritual paths as an element in my work. I have lived in Morocco and many years in Latin America (Ecuador and Mexico). Exploring the wisdom of indigenous peoples (Kichua and Maya) is something I seek with special interest, as I believe the spiritual wisdom and cultural practices I have encountered offer valuable insight as to how to live deeply and harmoniously with nature. Talking of nature, I would end up saying that it is my "cathedral", it is where I am at home, it is my true spiritual tradition.
